Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 19, 2026

Reality Quest ("we", "us", "the app") is built and operated by Quixotical

(the developer of this app). This page explains what data we collect, how

it's used, and your choices.

TL;DR

- Reality Quest runs almost entirely on your device.

- We don't have user accounts, don't store your scans on a server, and

don't sell your data to anyone.

- The features that talk to outside services (AI analysis, IAP, OAuth

logins) are listed below — those services' own privacy policies apply.

What stays on your device

These never leave your iPhone:

- Your onboarding profile and skills

- Your active quests, accepted opportunities, and earnings logs

- Your Sprint Quest goals and Lifeline Mode plans

- Your saved Dream Board items

- Bookmarked opportunities and scan history

- Sign-in credentials (we hash passwords on-device with SHA-256; no copy

is sent anywhere)

Permissions we request

- **Camera**: scanning your environment for opportunities. Photos are

processed by AI providers (see below) and not stored on our servers.

- **Photo Library**: selecting existing photos for Mix & Match Scan.

- **Location**: showing nearby companies in Business Radar and enabling

Feelers cross-town matching. Location is never sent to any server we

control.

- **Bluetooth + Local Network**: peer-to-peer Feelers networking. Feelers

exchanges data directly between phones over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi —

nothing is routed through our servers.

- **Calendar**: optionally adding industry events to your calendar.

- **Notifications**: alerts for matched Feelers signals and Sprint Quest

progress.

You can deny or revoke any of these in iOS Settings → Reality Quest. The

app will show clear "permission required" cards explaining what each

feature needs.

Third-party services

Reality Quest uses the following services to power AI features. When you

scan or generate quests, your photos and prompts are sent to one of these

providers:

- Anthropic (Claude API) — text + vision analysis

- OpenAI(GPT-4o API) — vision fallback

These providers process your images and text only to generate the

response. They are contractually prohibited from training on your data.

We don't store the responses on our servers either.

Optional integrations (only active if you connect them):

- **Pinterest** — OAuth login + read access to your boards for Dream

- **LinkedIn** — skills import for Hustle DNA.

- **Apple StoreKit** — in-app purchases. Card details never reach us.

What we don't do

- We don't sell your data to anyone.

- We don't have third-party advertising trackers in the app.

- We don't track you across other apps.

- We don't have access to other users' data on your behalf.

- We don't have a backend collecting usage analytics in the current

release.

## Data retention

Anything stored on your device stays there until you delete the app or

clear it from Settings. Uninstalling the app erases all local data. The

AI providers above retain transient inputs only as long as their

respective policies allow.

Children

Reality Quest is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly

collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app,

contact us at the address below and we'll help you remove anything

stored locally.

Your rights

- **Delete data**: uninstall the app or use the "Reset" option in

Profile → Settings.

- **Disconnect integrations**: revoke Pinterest / LinkedIn access in

those services' security settings.

- **Revoke permissions**: iOS Settings → Reality Quest.

- **Stop notifications**: iOS Settings → Notifications → Reality Quest.

Changes

We'll update this page when our practices change. The "Effective date"

at the top will reflect the latest revision. Material changes will be

announced in-app on next launch.
